How I Work

The first meeting is a photographic session and is usually arranged 6 weeks before I begin painting. Most clients bring their children to my neighborhood in Ortega for this short photographic sitting.

A few days later we will meet to review the photographic slides and make decisions about backgrounds. We will look at more than one slide to get the hands, feet and hair just right. You can also tell me, “pull the front teeth together a tad, lengthen the bangs a bit.” Clothing and background colors can be easily changed to better suit the child.

With this information in hand I work on the painting, review it for a few days, and then call you to set up an appointment to present the painting to you.
